Not really. As I understand it, ld.so picks the library with the highest
minor number available. Like in

[hauke@q700] /usr/lib > l libc.so*
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 394980 May 24 1997 libc.so.12.14

-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 404091 May 27 1998 libc.so.12.26
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 351675 Feb 4 1996 libc.so.12.3

-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 360187 Feb 13 1996 libc.so.12.4
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 469495 Sep 12 1999 libc.so.12.45
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 360559 May 29 1996 libc.so.12.5
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 486083 Nov 20 1999 libc.so.12.50
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 486474 Feb 3 2000 libc.so.12.55
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 563281 Nov 18 04:49 libc.so.12.62.1
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 360394 Nov 4 1996 libc.so.12.7
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 368779 Dec 31 1996 libc.so.12.8

...

Anyway, moving the old libwrap.so out of the way did the trick. Thanks.

That's probably a good idea.
