i am not sure but there might be some problem with buildlink2.
unfortunately i am now on holidays so i'll look at it after the new
year.  can you please file a PR with more details? - OS, version,
architecture, date of latest pkgsrc update or maybe even full "make
PKG_DEBUG_LEVEL=3D2" output.  also please try to update your pkgsrc first
since there were changes in buildlink2 library handling which may help
you with this problem.
