HI!

I am trying to install a package that requires "javac" to install and
"java" to run.  Previously, I had worked on some other JAVA packages, so
my CLASSPATH, JAVA_HOME PATH were already set in my .cshrc file. However,I
wonder if there are any other ways to have the JAVA packages successfully
installed an run WITHOUT having to set those variables.  For instance,
let's say one had installed a JDK/JRE package while ago, but forgot to set
the variables. Now s/he installs a package that requires "javac" and
"java" and so on.  I am sure the package will break and the person will be
upset, because s/he gets error: "javac" not found.  How can I go about
making a "smart" JAVA package?  A package named "jssi" seems to do this
already, but it looks like it's only doing it for installation.
