Sounds like a good scheme to me.  I put six new Perl packages in 
pkgsrc-wip with p5- prefixes.  Each are Perl modules.  One I discovered 
is already there without a p5- prefix.  <bad_joke>I'll contact the 
maintainer sometime tomorrow to resolve the redundancy sometime 
tomorrow.</bad_joke>
