Ah, just one more thing. When postgresql 7.4.x package will be ready, I plan
to do some work (in -wip propably) to enable easy building/installation of
postgresql contributed software. At GBorg's site (PostgreSQL replication
engine) there are some very interesting projects hosted; among others there
is "uniqueidentifier" project (utilizing libuuid, found in... e2fsprogs),
which allows to use global unique identifiers in PostgreSQL databases...
