Paul,
When I had X on -current (a few months ago), gkrellm did not support
displaying each cpu separatly, only the composite. In gkrellm2 you
could look at src/sysdeps/netbsd.c and modify those cpu related functions.
sysctl(2) says you can get the information from each cpu using kern.cp_time.
