A couple months ago, I mentioned I was having problems patching scribus
for old gcc 2.x. So I was told that focring gcc3 would be fine. So I did,
but then I found more problems, because of conflicts with dependencies
(such as qt3-libs) that were built with gcc 2.

I asked in May, but never received any answer:

So if I start using gcc3 should I use it for everything?

Also a recent thread on packages list suggested that we shouldn't upgrade
a package if "NetBSD" (official release) wasn't supported.

Any suggestions on what I should do? Scribus in our pkgsrc is way out of
date. I have newer versions in my pkgsrc which I have been using for
months, but I don't want to commit because it will break under NetBSD
1.6.2.
