Hi!
Is there a way to get a UTF-8 compatible xterm on Solaris 8?
My xterm gets built fine here, but:
| % uxterm
| xterm: bad command line option "-u8"
which seems to come from
| grep -i i18n work/xterm-196/xtermcfg.h
| /* #undef OPT_I18N_SUPPORT */ /* CF_ARG_DISABLE(i18n) */
which in fact comes from
| % ggrep -m2 -A2 Xutf work/xterm-196/config.log
| configure:5325: checking for Xutf8LookupString
| configure:5353: gcc -o conftest -O -I/opt/local/pkg/include [...skipped dirs...]\
conftest.c -lXaw -lXmu -lXext -lXt -lSM -lICE -lX11 -ltermcap -lsocket -lnsl 1>&5
| Undefined first referenced
| --
| Xutf8LookupString /var/tmp//ccQ8ExNk.o
| ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to conftest
| collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
Any ideas/hints how to get that working? Are there any other utf8
aware terminal emulators available that work on Solaris systems?
Thanks, Rob.
