A couple of packages in pkgsrc will still use pth because they use pth's API
directly.  (Though it's possible they were just badly constructed pkgsrc
packages.)

Not specifically pkgsrc related, there are actually situations (rare, but
they do exist -- think "coroutine design") where a completely userland
threading system is faster.  So pth still has a niche market in the face of
kernel-supported preemptive threading.
