hi list,
after a server badly crashed due to several power outages (a dozen+
within the period of rebuilding RAIDframe...) i have to set up a new
machine.
in autumn 2005 i used databases/php-mysql for connecting to MySQL 4.1x;
unfortunately, pkgsrc-current builds php-mysql with a 3.23.x ABI of
MySQL, whereas connecting to MySQL4 would be possible using php5-mysqli.
the first problem is that php4 and php5 are mutual exclusive, the
second is much harder: the software installed does not work with php5...
so my question is: is it possible to build php-mysql in a way that it
connects to MySQL *4* instead of MySQL *3*?
a stated above, this was the default last autumn.
tia & best regards,
timo
