Well, it's not mandatory and not an emergency!
When pkg_select uses pkgsrc tree, it can get that information. As I want
pkg_select to work in the same way (if possible) without taking care of
where it gets informations, I wondered if we could add maintainer information into pkg_summary.
So it's an option, so don't worry!
