I've been playing with pkgtools/gensolpkg and it looks very nice ...

One question I have though is whether it has been integrated into
the pkgsrc tree to the point where one can build an entirely Solaris
package based install? ie, pkgsrc knows how to do binary installs of
dependancies if requested to do so - can it do the same with Solaris
pkgsrc packages?

... which makes me wonder whether the bulk package builder would
work too ... 8)
