No, it isn't. I've built "mplayer" with D'Arcy patch applied and the
resulting binary didn't depend on any "freetype" shared library.

If I however built in with a dependence on "freetype2" it works
properly:

tron@colwyn:~>ldd /usr/pkg/bin/mplayer|grep free
        -lfreetype.6 => /usr/pkg/lib/libfreetype.so.6
tron@colwyn:~>pkg_info -IF /usr/pkg/lib/libfreetype.so.6
freetype2-2.3.5     Font rendering engine and library API

I've fixed the package accordinly.
