relocation R_X86_64_PC32 and can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC

I appeared to have problem even outside of pkgsrc and in pkgsrc.

ld: .libs/libthunar_vfs_1_la-thunar-vfs-deep-count-job.o: relocation
R_X86_64_PC32 against `_thunar_vfs_marshal_VOID__UINT64_UINT_UINT_UINT' 
can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
ld: final link failed: Bad value

According to pkgsrc's work/.work.log it appears it is built with -fPIC.

Any ideas?
