I don't see any problem with the timing.  Now we just have the
functionality (and that's always a question, when does someone have
time to implement it -- that's independent of any feature discussion,
except it's usually afterwards :) ) and we can now decide when we want
to use it.

I think it's a very nice feature and am looking forward to using it,
but we can postpone it e.g. to after the next pkgsrc branch if we
think it's better timingwise.
