I've just commited python24 support.
It build fine with Python24, 25 and 26 on NetBSD-i386-5.0.1 X11_TYPE=modular.
(I did not try to build with builtin expat)
For python24, selftest was passed except version check of expat library
(Because I've patched to use external expat).
