Yes, for me:

soname_spec="\${libname}\${release}\${shared_ext}\$major"
             elif test -n "$soname_spec"; then
               eval soname=\"$soname_spec\"
         if test -n "$soname_spec"; then
           eval soname=\"$soname_spec\"
