It seems it doesn't work on netbsd-6, either, right now, since I get the 
same issue on NetBSD 6.1 (netbsd-6 built at the end of 2013). But 
apparently it worked at some point on m68k:

I wonder what changed. It seems that SPARC, VAX, SH3, Alpha, and possibly 
others currently don't build. So sure, let's try out those patches of 
yours.
