PLIST and dynamic filenames?

All,

I need to add a file to a package PLIST which during the install is 
assigned a dynamic filename, like

foo-`src/foo -makeid`.dmp

-- what options do I have?  Since the tool producing the ID has to be 
built, adding to PLIST_SUBST does not work right?The pkgsrc guide, as 
so often for "advanced topics", falls short, and my web searches for 
similar cases have come up empty.
