I guess you are talking about "pip install", not actually upgrading the pkgsrc package. Could you possibly try with db6?. The point of all this thread is that db4 is "too sticky" with current python pkgsrc package :). Pay special attention to the identification in the last line. My problem was that my package was linking to db6 *BUT* the header line used was DB4. The symptom was "bsddb3.db.version()==6.1.x" *BUT* "bsddb3.db.DB_VERSION_STRING" was 4.8. This should be solved with current bsddb3 6.2.4 package. BTW, what is your Operating System?. > Please take a look at the package, perhaps it can now be simplified? That is the plan. I just saw that you actually upgraded py-bsddb package. According to <http://pkgsrc.se/databases/py-bsddb3>, changelog shows that change, but the package revision seems to be kept at 6.2.1 :-). -- Jesús Cea Avión _/_/ _/_/_/ _/_/_/ jcea%jcea.es@localhost - http://www.jcea.es/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ Twitter: @jcea _/_/ _/_/ _/_/_/_/_/ jabber / xmpp:jcea%jabber.org@localhost _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ "Things are not so easy" _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ "My name is Dump, Core Dump" _/_/_/ _/_/_/ _/_/ _/_/ "El amor es poner tu felicidad en la felicidad de otro" - Leibniz
