OK … how's the process for removing a package properly in favour of
another? Shall I just add

SUPERSEDES=fftwf

to math/fftw/Makefile and remove math/fftwf after updating all usage of
it as dependency? Or should math/fftwf be kept as an empty package to
keep working anything in WIP that references it?
