Kinda nitpicky question - sorry.

Is there anything lacking in openbox that would impair its use with
LXQt?

Openbox felt like "finished" software 10 years ago, so I wouldn't
be particularly concerned about lack of activity upstream. There
are many X window managers where there is simply nothing left
to do.

It just feels strange to make a desktop environment depend on
another desktop environment's window mananger, especially a
desktop environment written in a different toolkit.
