Thanks for the feedback. The only added lines in my mk.conf are

MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET=	13.3

PKG_DEVELOPER=		yes
MAKE_JOBS?=		8


Oh, and in case it matters, I am using an unprivileged install.
