Yes sure, go on with it. I hadn't noticed that by chance, you had
recently imported the package as sysutils/hwdata.
IIRC the Makefile patch main purpose was to avoid a further dependency
on GNU install. 
I hadn't added a buildlinlk file since the package doesn't install
libraries, but either way is fine for me.
