What's the status of this? While discussing with some of my users why I haven't updated SmartOS trunk packages for a while, in part due to the php issues, one of them said that the changes would affect over 400 of their servers, so I'm keen to find a way forward that doesn't immediately break them on "pkgin upgrade".
