Maybe it uses stuff like "What version of OpenSSH is running?" to make 
some of those determinations (since NetBSD ships with OpenSSH, whereas 
"everything on Linux is a 3rd-party package" and thus no version 
assumptions about the OS can be made).

I guess it also begs the question .. "So what?"
