Incidentally, has systat(1) ever worked with an MP kernel,
and is it expected to?   This is the only application which
has given me grief.  (I build it from the same source-tree
as the kernel, with just syssrc/sys/arch/i386 tracking 
sommefeld_i386mp_1).
