Look for ACPI and "Plug and Play" related BIOS options, and try
various settings.
One Compaq ProLiant BIOS I've played with has a setting for "operating
system"; it may be the case that the BIOS sets up either ACPI or MP
Spec tables based on this value. IIRC (it's been a while since I made
this work) I got reasonable results from telling the BIOS it was about
to boot NT 4 ..
