I've been informed that bmake won't compile under AIX.

If any one has an AIX machine (and a little spare time) then it would
probably be worth checking this out.

FYI, they encountered the problem while attempting to cross compile
NetBSD/PowerPC on an AIX machine.  The notes that they were following
(which could also be wrong :-) can be found in:
