That isn't correct. There are two separate downloads:
o GDB which does not include the Insight GUI
and does not need tcl.
o Insight which integrates GDB with a TCL
interpreter adding a TK/... based GUI.
Insight 5 (and work in progress Insight 5.1) require, due to numerous
bug fixes, a custom tcl 8.0 release. The Insight developers are working
on eliminating this dependency and moving things to tcl 8.3 (just don't
quote me on the version numbers m'kay :-).
If anything, could I encourage a pkgsrc of current GDB and/or current
Insight. They are way more interesting then 5 or 5.1. The other is
dejagnu.
