Using -fno-builtin generates:

        move    $2,$4
        lw      $25,%call16(memcpy)($28)
        addiu   $4,$5,2
        li      $6,4                    # 0x4
        jr      $25
        move    $5,$2

so it really does appear to be the builtin memcpy.
