re: Stop shipping static libraries for NetBSD

please stop saying that netbsd users don't use static libs.

afaict, anyone who uses netbsd for serious development and
uses the debugger heavily uses static libs.


i see no real benefit for this proposal.  the drive for it
is to stop supporting older releases binaries, whether they
are static or dynamic.  i don't agree with that desire.
many people have expressed that not being able to run a full
netbsd-X userland on a netbsd-X+1 kernel as being a severe
regression from their POV.  i agree.


people use the static libs.  leave 'em be.
