Building on Linux: Current Status

Hi!

I just wanted to give an overview covering my build setup. Basically,
I'm mostly working towards reproducible NetBSD, building a given
NetBSD snapshot four times (2x on a amd64 NetBSD VM, 2x on a current
Debian "unstable" system.) I do these builds for 94 recognized
port/arch combinations.

49 such combinations fail on Linux but build on NetBSD. With the
patches for elf2aout, mkubootimage and
sys/arch/macppc/stand/fixcoff/fixcoff.c applied, 45 targets are
building again. The last four build issues (ppc's mkbootimage and
hppa's mkboot.c) will be covered by the last two patches [1], [2] once
these are applied (or fixed in a different way.) So we're nearly back
on track to fix remaining reproducibility issues. The most recent full
build round (where still many of the Linux-based builds failed) can be
found at [3].

MfG, JBG
