yes, but by removing the compile-time limit, we can tune at run-time
more easily.

allow me to rephrase:

(2) i have plans to eliminate the hard limit based on MAXSSIZ entirely
(at least after an exec), so adjusting MAXSSIZ at boot time, depending
on memory detected, may also become a moot point.  chances are that if
you need all 32 megs, you probably need more than that.

this is not to say that there would not be a limit to the hard limit;
only that it would not be set at kernel compile time.
