I don't think that they do this because they are bored.  They do this
for credit. :-) Maybe that can be a project for next year.  I think that
a student team would need more information from you to get started.
If there is a nearby university, you might be able to sponsor this
network there.  I think that student projects like these can be great
NetBSD advocacy as well as education.
