This is a different topic altogether, and it should not be tied to this
(potential) device driver, since serial connected UPSes share the same
problem (and other ups userland drivers, like ups-nut). I would realy like
the kernel/init and /etc/rc.d to cooperate to be able to run a special rc
script after all other file systems have been unmounted and / has been
synced and maybe even remounted read-only again.
