It's a valid enough reservation, but I think a more conventional -\?
or -h will do the same, less surprisingly to many users.

In my opinion, "ifconfig -a" is much more frequently useful than
"ifconfig" without options to be reminded of its usage.  YMMV,
certainly, but I repeat my vote in favour of the change.  By all means
add a "help" option, if convenient.
