I am not sure if this will help you, but there's a magic string,
"from_mount", which can be used in the first field of the fstab
entry, like this:
# fs_spec fs_file fs_vfstype fs_mntops fs_freq fs_passno
from_mount / ffs rw,log 1 0
This does not seem to be documented in fstab(5), but it is
documented in mount(8).
