The X server thinks that you have a G450 which doesn't work right out of the 
box.

Start "X --configure". This creates a working config.

If that doesn't work, go over to Matrox (http://www.matrox.com/mga) 
and download the linux driver which includes the hal module. 
Due to the new driver concept in XFree4.x the will work.
