intel xserver fails to start after 5.99.29->5.99.39 upgrade
Hi,
just upgraded my system from 5.99.29 (early June) to 5.99.39 (yesterday)
and Xserver is failing to start (with either xdm or startx). I have Intel
i945GM hardware (in Thinkpad T60), and have tried disabling DRI, Tiling
and FramebufferCompression with no effect. The pertinent failure shown in
the Xorg.0.log seems to be

reverting to the 5.99.29 kernel does not help, and I don't have the older
xserver binaries handy at the moment (they were working fine with the new
kernel)
I've attached the full Xorg.0.log (with nothing disabled) and the console
output (with hw.dri.debug=1) in case there is something else that might be
interesting.. any clues?
