to upgrade xorg-server sanely, i'd like to create xorg-server.old

hi folks.


we've had success in the main tree using 'foo' and 'foo.old' subdirs
to upgrade complex components that may require help from many people,
and i'd like to use that method to update xorg-server which is quite
old at this point, but has many many local changes that will take time
to port across (and then will be in a better position to push upstream
as well.)  the existing server is 42MB in my current check out, so
this would be duplicated in xsrc.

i'll probably start this in the next week or so, but i'd like to see
if there are any objections first.
