alacritty: possible inputmethod issue?

Hi!

I've recently tried out x11/alacritty, a terminal emulator written in
rust, on NetBSD 9.99.85/amd64.

It doesn't start:

tnn reports that this works when built with X from pkgsrc, so I wonder
if we're doing something wrong in base X11 to break this.

Does anyone have an idea?
