Hmm...both /usr/X11R7/lib/libEGL.* and /usr/X11R7/lib/pkgconfig/egl.pc
exist. Why is it still panicking?

Can you show the output of:

readelf -d szyszka
ldd szyszka
env LD_DEBUG=files szyszka

and, in gdb, after the segfault:

(gdb) info sharedlibrary
