Sorry, I don't think I have enough knowledge about file system
(should we ask Manuel, who worked on sys/ufs/ext2fs import?),
but newfs_ext2fs is useful on installation for ports whose
firmware can load kernel or bootloader only from ext2fs partitions.
(cobalt, some evbmips gear etc.)
