Not just when updating packages, but most importantly for me to catch
bugs in the portability of the package where the maintainer has only
tested on NetBSD.
Here are the numbers of utterly broken packages we would happily be
shipping binary packages of to users if we didn't have PLISTs, based
on most recent bulk builds:
SunOS: 78
Linux: 116
Darwin: 138
To me it's a no-brainer. PLISTs catch bugs and stop us shipping
broken packages, and I am hugely grateful for them.
