It builds for me, on an i7-3gen 16GB memory / 16GB swap, 2G /tmp
tmpfs, tail of build log with "time" from csh:
=> Creating binary package /usr/sandbox/usr/pkgsrc/mail/thunderbird/work/.packages/thunderbird-102.8.0.tgz
===> Building binary package for thunderbird-102.8.0
=> Creating binary package /usr/sandbox/mnt/packages/All/thunderbird-102.8.0.tgz
=> Becoming ``root'' to make su-real-package-install (/usr/bin/su)
===> Installing binary package of thunderbird-102.8.0
=> Dropping ``root'' privileges.
