Can you send the dmesg of this kernel which finds all the drives ?
Output of dmesg's attached.
Sorry, I meant, the GENERIC kernel with ACPI enabled.
BTW, this kernel sees both CPUs too. What's the problem ?
Sort of, I can see this in NetBSD's dmesg:
cpu0 at mainbus0 apid 0: (boot processor)
cpu1 at mainbus0 apid 1: (application processor)
And this in xm dmesg:
(XEN) Processor #0 15:5 APIC version 16
(XEN) Processor #1 15:5 APIC version 16
(XEN) Enabling APIC mode: Flat. Using 3 I/O APICs
(XEN) Using scheduler: SMP Credit Scheduler (credit)
(XEN) Detected 2004.559 MHz processor.
(XEN) CPU0: AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 246 stepping 08
(XEN) Booting processor 1/1 eip 90000
(XEN) AMD: Disabling C1 Clock Ramping Node #0
(XEN) AMD: Disabling C1 Clock Ramping Node #1
(XEN) CPU1: AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 246 stepping 08
(XEN) Total of 2 processors activated.
(XEN) ENABLING IO-APIC IRQs
(XEN) -> Using new ACK method
(XEN) Platform timer overflows in 2 jiffies.
(XEN) Platform timer is 1.193MHz PIT
(XEN) Brought up 2 CPUs
...but why then top shows only one CPU with this kernel and 2 CPUs with
GENERIC...?
I attached dmesg output of GENERIC kernel with enabled ACPI (both kernel
and BIOS).
And the main problem still remains, why can't Dom0 boot with BIOS
enabled ACPI..?
Thanks,
Marcin
