I thought we started branching xsrc. The cvs log on xsrc/Makefile seems to agree. As such, I don't think -current xsrc should be required to support previous releases anymore. As to the origianal point, I don't think we really need to support old releases of -current. xsrc is now much more fully integrated with the rest of the build system, so if you want to run X with current (and build from source), you really should download both together.
