xsrc in -current is supposed to support old releases, and has
for a long time.  tsutsui's original suggestion seems valid.

I thought we started branching xsrc. The cvs log on xsrc/Makefile seems to
agree. As such, I don't think -current xsrc should be required to support
previous releases anymore.

As to the origianal point, I don't think we really need to support old
releases of -current. xsrc is now much more fully integrated with the
rest of the build system, so if you want to run X with current (and build
from source), you really should download both together.

        I would very much prefer us to have xsrc supporting at least
        the last major release, particularly if we are feeding diffs
        back to Xfree or similar. It also allows people running the
        release to play with the latest xsrc, giving it more testing.
