Integration in base would be the primary target. Various NetBSD
components are available as portable distributions with autoconf glue as
well.

I don't think the client and server side are much different in terms of
protocol. The biggest issue is likely the delta algorithm and that
applies to both.

I'd say the newest or newest two is good enough.
